LMC Basketball Players of
the Week Announced
The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for games
played February 24-March 1, the fifteenth week of competition.
Sara Metzger of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named women’s Player of
the Week. The junior post from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin had 12 rebounds, 10
points, and 4 blocks in the LMC Tournament Championship game, where the
Warriors defeated Lakeland 59-41.
Lakeland College’s Chelsea Bjarnarson was named women’s Hustle Player of the
Week. The junior guard from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin pulled down 11 rebounds,
dished off 3 assists, and also tallied a block and a steal in the Championship
game.
MSOE’s
Alan Williams was named men’s Player of the Week. The junior from Wisconsin
Rapids played a major role in the Raiders 91-87 upset over Lakeland in the LMC
Championship game. MSOE was down 6 points with 2:30 left to play, when
Williams scored 8 points on an 11-0 run. He finished the game with 13 points
on 4-5 shooting from the floor, a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc, and a
perfect 2-2 from the line.
Lakeland’s Cory Nickel was named men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Nickel, a
junior guard from New Holstein, Wisconsin, led his team in scoring with 21
points, to go along with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in the
championship game.
--March 3, 2003--
The Lake Michigan Conference has announced its Men’s
and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for games played February 17-23, the
fourteenth week of competition.
Sara Metzger of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named women’s Player of the Week.
The junior post from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin helped advance the Warriors to the LMC
tournament championship game. Metzger averaged 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and
4.0 blocks in WLC’s two wins last week. The Warriors will play Lakeland College
this Saturday in the LMC tournament championship.
Marian College’s Sara Jesuit was named women’s Hustle Player of the Week. The
senior guard from Hoffman Estates High School (IL) averaged 9 rebounds, 7
assists, and 3 steals in the Sabres two LMC tournament games.
Justin Kramer of MSOE and Randy Kolinske of Edgewood College were named men’s
LMC Co-Players of the Week.
Kramer, a junior from West Bend, Wisconsin, averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds,
2.5 assists, and 2.3 steals in the Raiders’ three games last week. Milwaukee
School of Engineering will face Lakeland College in the men’s LMC tournament
championship this Saturday.
Kolinske, a junior guard out of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School (WI),
averaged 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, on 60% (12-20) shooting from the field and
50% (7-14) from the 3-point line.
MSOE’s Matt Hopf was named men’s Hustle Player of the Week. The junior from
Howards Grove, Wisconsin averaged 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the Raiders’
three games.

The Lake Michigan
Conference has announced its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week
for games played February 10-16, the thirteenth week of competition.
Concordia University’s Mary Deitemeyer was named LMC Women’s Basketball
Player of the Week. The senior forward/center from Montivideo High
School (Minnesota) helped the Falcons to two LMC wins last week. She
averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. CUW is
currently 14-10 overall and 9-2 in the LMC.
Chelsea
Bjarnarson of Lakeland College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the
Week. The Muskies went 2-0 for the week as the junior guard from Sturgeon Bay,
Wisconsin averaged 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks. The
Muskies are 15-8 overall and 8-3 in the LMC.
Maranatha Baptist Bible College’s Jacob Gomez was named LMC Men’s Player of
the Week. Gomez, a 6’2 junior from Stoughton High School (Wisconsin) averaged
25.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in the Crusaders’ two losses last
week. Gomez shot 18 of 31 (58%) from the floor, and 8 of 19 (42%) from beyond
the arc, including a 31 point performance over LMC Champions Lakeland College.
Maranatha (8-13, 2-10 LMC) plays at Edgewood College in Madison in the first
round of the LMC Tournament this Thursday at 7:00 pm.
MSOE’s
Jeff Mikos was named LMC Hustle Player of the Week. The freshman guard from
Lake Zurich, Illinois and the Raiders went
1-1 last week. He averaged 6.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals in the
two contests. Milwaukee School of Engineering (9-16, 4-8 LMC) will play at
Concordia University in Mequon in the first round of the LMC Tournament this
Thursday at 7:00 pm.

The Lake
Michigan Conference has announced its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of
the Week for games played February 3-9, the twelfth week of competition.
Lakeland
College’s Casey Thousand was named Lake Michigan Conference Women’s Player of
the Week. Thousand, a junior guard from Barneveld High School (Wisconsin),
scored a career high 21 points in 58-44 victory over first place Wisconsin
Lutheran College (9-1 LMC). The Muskie shot a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw
line, and shot 60% (3-5) from 3-point land. The Muskies (13-8, 6-3 LMC) are
currently in third place in the LMC.
Cortney
Femling of Milwaukee School of Engineering was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player
of the Week for the second week in a row. Femling, a freshman guard from Green
Bay, Wisconsin, averaged 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists as the Raiders
went 2-0 for the week defeating Maranatha Baptist 74-38 and Alverno College
57-45.
The Lake
Michigan Conference Men’s Co-Players of the Week were MSOE’s Jeff Mikos, and
Edgewood’s Randy Kolinske. Both players’ teams went 2-0 last week.
Mikos, a
freshman guard from Lake Zurich, Illinois, shot the lights out in two Raider
victories. He averaged 19.0 points on 81% (13-16) shooting from the field, and
a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc. He also averaged 6.0 steals, 4.5 assists,
and 4.5 rebounds in the two contests. MSOE (8-14, 3-6 LMC) defeated Maranatha
Baptist and Northland Baptist, 61-53 and 83-63, respectively
Kolinske,
a junior guard out of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School (Wisconsin),
recorded his second double-double of the season scoring 29 points and pulling
down 11 rebounds in a 92-66 LMC victory at Wisconsin Lutheran College. He
averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in the Eagles’
two LMC victories. Edgewood (12-8, 6-3 LMC) defeated Marian College 65-60 in
their other contest last week.
Concordia University of Wisconsin’s Derek Berger was named LMC Men’s Hustle
Player of the Week. Berger, a senior forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, helped
the Falcons split a pair of games last week after coming off a ten game
absence due to injury. His averages were 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals
and 0.5 blocks per contest. The Falcons (13-10, 6-4 LMC) lost to Marian
College 61-73, and defeated Maranatha Baptist 78-53 last week.

The Lake
Michigan Conference has announced its Players of the Week for men’s and
women’s basketball for games played in the week of January 27-February 2, the
eleventh week of competition.
Marian
College’s Sarah Reckelberg was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week for the
third time this season. Reckelberg, a senior forward out of Luxemburg,
Wisconsin, helped the Sabres to a 2-0 week in the LMC as she recorded her 7th
and 8th double-doubles of the season. In Saturday’s game versus
MSOE she scored 27 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds. Her
averages for the week were 18.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 2.0
assists, and 1.0 blocks. She shot 55.6% (15-27) from the floor and 90% (9-10)
from the line for the week. The Sabres are in fourth place in the LMC
standings with a 4-4 conference record.
Courtney
Femling of Milwaukee School of Engineering was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player
of the Week. Femling, a freshman guard from Green Bay, Wisconsin, was a
noticeable factor on both ends of the floor. The freshman Raider averaged 8.5
assists, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per contest last week. MSOE
is 1-7 in the Lake Michigan Conference, currently in sixth place.
The
Men’s Player of the Week honor was shared by MSOE’s Matt Hopf, and Lakeland’s
Nick Zeck. Both players helped their teams to a 2-0 record for the week.
Hopf, a
junior post from Howards Grove, Wisconsin, averaged 20.5 points and 8.0
rebounds in the Raiders’ first two LMC victories this season. He shot 58.1%
(18-31) from the floor in the two games. MSOE is currently 2-6 in the LMC.
Zeck, a
sophomore center out of West Allis, Wisconsin, averaged 16.0 points, 10.5
rebounds, and 2.0 steals in the Muskies’ two wins, which keeps them on top of
the LMC standings. He shot 72.2% (13-18) from the floor and 75% (6-8) from the
free throw line. Lakeland leads the LMC with a 7-1 conference record and a
15-5 overall record.
Wisconsin Lutheran College’s Paul Nelson was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of
the Week. Nelson, a senior forward out of Fish Creek, Wisconsin, averaged 8.0
rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks as the Warriors went 1-1 on the week. WLC
is currently 3-5 in the Lake Michigan Conference.

Michigan Conference has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and
women’s basketball for games played in the week of January 20-26, the tenth
week of competition.
Kory
Schaaf of Edgewood College was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week. Schaaf, a
junior forward out of Mineral Point High School (WI), led her team to a 64-51
conference victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering in the Eagles only
game of the week. Schaaf scored 23 points on 11-12 shooting (92%), pulled down
8 rebounds, and had 3 steals and 2 blocks in the game.
Jackie
Endsley of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of
the Week. Endsley, a freshman guard from Kohler High School (WI), was
nominated by Coach Doug Neumann of Marian College, who the Warriors defeated
71-52 in a Lake Michigan Conference game. “Her shooting was a key to their
first half lead” commented Coach Neumann, whose team trailed 25-42 at the
half. Endsley shot 5-7 from the field, and 4-5 from the 3-point line for a
total of 14 points in the game.
Brian
Weber of Concordia University of Wisconsin was named LMC Men’s Player of the
Week. Weber, a 6’10” junior center from Oak Creek, Wisconsin had three
double-doubles in three games last week in which he averaged 21 points, 14
rebounds, and 1 block a game. The Falcons went 1-2 on the week, losing 64-66
to Maranatha Baptist in a LMC game, defeating Concordia University of Michigan
106-104 in a double-overtime game, and losing 70-76 to Concordia University of
Nebraska in the championship game of the Concordia Invitational Tournament. In
the Falcons’ win over CUM, Weber scored the game winning basket with 1.2
seconds left in the second overtime.
Adam
Lewis of Milwaukee School of Engineering was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of
the Week. Lewis, a senior forward out of Lynwood, Illinois, averaged 8.5
rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in the Raiders two games last
week.

The Lake
Michigan Conference has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and
women’s basketball for games played in the week of January 13-19, the ninth
week of competition.
Wisconsin Lutheran College student-athlete Julie Christensen was named LMC
Women’s Player of the Week. This is her fourth LMC weekly honor this season.
Christensen, a senior guard out of Racine, Wisconsin, averaged 20 points, 9.5
rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block per contest. Her 6.5 assists per
game average in last week’s two games, is almost 1 apg better than her 5.6
average, which is currently 14th best in the nation. The Warriors
(9-6, 4-0 LMC) defeated both Lakeland College and Concordia University 56-44
and 59-53, respectively, in two LMC contests last week.
Rachel
Brown of Maranatha Baptist Bible College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player
of the Week. Brown, a senior center from Carrollton, Ohio, averaged 10.5
rebounds, 3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game as the Crusaders went 1-1 last
week. Maranatha (8-3, 0-3 LMC) defeated Lincoln Christian 67-60, and lost to
Edgewood College 39-55 in their two contests.
Edgewood
College student-athlete Seth Cooper was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week.
Cooper, a sophomore forward out of Madison West H.S. (Madison, WI), led his
team in scoring in two conference victories last week on 64% (18-28) shooting
form the field and 87% (13-15) from the free-throw line. He averaged 25.5
points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists per contest, including a 24
point-10 rebound double-double performance over Maranatha. The Eagles (9-7,
3-2 LMC) were victorious over LMC foes Marian College and Maranatha Baptist
Bible College, 73-61, and 67-57, respectively. Cooper was previously named LMC
Hustle Player of the Week twice this season; this is his first Player of the
Week honor.
Brian
Weber of Concordia University of Wisconsin was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player
of the Week. Weber, a 6’10” junior center from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, helped
keep the Falcons (11-5, 5-0 LMC) a top the Lake Michigan Conference with his
defense. In two victories he averaged 10.5 rebounds (9.5 defensive), and 3.5
blocks per contest. Concordia defeated Carroll College 85-83, and MSOE 68-66
last week.

Michigan Conference has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and
women’s basketball for games played in the week of January 6-12, the eighth
week of competition.
JQ
Stewart of Concordia University was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week.
Stewart, a freshman guard out of St. Francis High School (Milwaukee, WI),
helped keep Concordia undefeated and on top of the standings in the LMC. In
two conference games this past week, Stewart averaged 18 points on 14-23
shooting, 6.5 steals, 5.5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per contest.
Stewart recorded her first double-double of the season in a 78-67 win over
Marian College with 29 points and 11 steals. The Falcons, currently 6-6
overall, 3-0 in conference, defeated Edgewood College on Saturday 67-45
Laurel
Wipperfurth of Milwaukee School of Engineering was named LMC Women’s Hustle
Player of the Week. Wipperfurth, a 5’9” junior from Dane, Wisconsin, worked
extremely hard on both ends of the floor in MSOE’s two games last week. She
averaged 9.5 rebounds per game (5.5 offensive), and 4.0 steals per game. The
Raiders went 1-1 on the week losing to Lawrence University, and defeating LMC
foe Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
Brian
Weber of Concordia University was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week, for the
second time this season. Weber, a 6’10” junior center from Oak Creek,
Wisconsin led his team to a 2-1 record on the week. He averaged 14.3 points,
8.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game this past week, and recorded his second
double-double of the season in a 70-69 overtime victory over LMC rival
Edgewood College. The Falcons (9-5, 4-0 LMC) lost 68-98 to University of
Tennessee-Maritn, a NCAA Division I school, and defeated Concordia Seminary
115-45 in their other two games.
Falcon
teammate Frank Baker was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Baker, a
6’3” freshman from Fort Wayne, Indiana, provided a much needed energy boost
for Concordia in their conference win over Edgewood. He came off the bench to
help comeback from an 18-point deficit grabbing 4 rebounds, stealing the ball
once, and had a pair of breakaway dunks that got the crowd back in the game.

women’s basketball for games played in the week of December 30-January 5, the
seventh week of competition.
Julie
Christensen of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named LMC Women’s Player of the
Week. Christensen, a senior guard out of Racine, Wisconsin, helped the
Warriors to a 1-1 record on the week defeating Palm Beach Atlantic 56-54 on
Tuesday, and falling to Barry University 46-55 on Saturday. Christensen
averaged 14.5 points, 6 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per contest. This
is her third LMC Player of the Week honor this season.
Chelsea
Borgrud of Marian College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the Week.
Borgrud, a freshman forward from Deerfield, Wisconsin, gave it her all in a
loss to Elmhurst College. She had 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and was a perfect 4-4
from the free-throw line for the Sabres.
Paul
Nelson of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week.
Nelson, a senior forward out of Fish Creek, Wisconsin, had a double-double
playing in his first game this season. Nelson had 37 points and 10 rebounds, 8
of them offensive, coming off the bench in a 116-111 overtime win over Menlo
College.
Seth
Cooper of Edgewood College was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week.
Cooper, a sophomore forward out of Madison, Wisconsin, had 2 double-doubles in
3 games for the Eagles. He averaged 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 steals
per contest.

The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for
games played in the week of December 23-29, the sixth week of competition.
Sarah Reckelberg of Marian
College was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week for the second time this
season. Reckelberg, a senior forward out of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, scored her
1,000th career point in a 73-59 win over Western Connecticut State
on Saturday. In the game she scored 29 points on 9-11 shooting, and a perfect
11-11 from the free-throw line. She also had 7 boards and 5 steals in the
victory. Marian took second place in the Adidas Desert Shoot-Out in Las Vegas,
Nevada after losing 65-89 to Buena Vista University on Sunday.
No LMC Women’s Hustle Player
of the Week was named due to no nominations.
Adam Lewis of Milwaukee
School of Engineering was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week. Lewis, a senior
forward out of Lynwood, Illinois, led all scorers with 22 points, and led all
players with 8 rebounds in the Raiders 78-65 win over Eureka College. Lewis
was 7-14 from the floor and 8-9 from the free-throw line.
MSOE Teammate Jeff Mikos was
named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Mikos, a freshman out of Lake
Zurich, Illinois, led the Raiders in assists (7) and steals (6), and also had
6 rebounds in the victory. MSOE is currently 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in the
LMC.

The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for
games played in the week of December 16-22, the fifth week of competition.
Kristi Thill of Lakeland
College was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week. Thill, a 5’6” sophomore
guard from Garden, Michigan, led the Muskies in scoring with 19 points in a
non-conference loss to UW-Platteville. She also had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and
2 steals in the game. Lakeland is 5-5 overall, 1-1 in the Lake Michigan
Conference.
Sarah Reckelberg of Marian
College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the Week. Reckelberg, a 5’9”
senior forward from Luxemburg, Wisconsin, was key in the Sabres 50-43 win over
MSOE. She played in all 40 minutes grabbing 13 rebounds (5 offensive),
assisted on 6 baskets, and had a steal. Marian is 3-5 overall, and 2-0 in the
LMC.
Brian Crowe of Marian College
was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week. Crowe, a 5’11” senior guard from
Oshkosh, Wisconsin, led the Sabres in scoring in their first LMC victory of
the season over MSOE. Crowe scored 17 points on 6-9 shooting, including 2-2
from 3-point land and 3-4 from the line. Crowe also had 5 rebounds, 2 assists,
and 2 steals in the 65-61 victory. The Sabres are 2-6 overall and 1-0 in the
Lake Michigan Conference.
Adam Lewis of Milwaukee
School of Engineering was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Lewis, a
senior forward out of Lynwood, Illinois, led the Raiders in rebounding with 8
rebounds in a LMC contest versus Marian. He also tallied two blocks and two
steals in his team’s 4-point defeat. MSOE is currently 2-7 on the season and
0-2 in the LMC.

The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for
games played in the week of December 9-15, the fourth week of competition.
Laurel Wipperfurth of
Milwaukee School of Engineering was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week.
Wipperfurth, a junior from Lodi, Wisconsin, led her team to a 1-1 record on
the week. The Raiders defeated Alverno College 50-43, where Wipperfurth scored
a game high 20 points, and grabbed a team high 6 rebounds to comeback from a
seven point deficit at halftime. This win avenged two losses to Alverno from
last season. The Raiders are currently 3-4 this season.
Renee Steinert of Lakeland
College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the Week. Steinert, a 6’0”
sophomore forward from Sheboygan Lutheran High School, never give up in a
38-52 loss to the University of Chicago. She was all over the floor grabbing 6
rebounds, blocking 3 shots, passing out 2 assists, and also had a steal. The
Muskies are 5-4 on the season.
Brian Weber of Concordia
University of Wisconsin was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week. Weber, a 6’10”
junior center from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, recorded is first double-double of
the season in a 99-81 victory over LMC foe Wisconsin Lutheran College. Weber
scored 21 points on 8-12 (67%) shooting from the floor, but that was not his
most significant feat of the game. He pulled down a school record 23 rebounds
which was just five rebounds shy of his opponents’ total rebounds (28). The
Falcons are currently 5-3 overall, and a league leading 2-0 in the LMC.
Seth Cooper of Edgewood
College was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Cooper, a 6’5”
sophomore forward out of Madison, Wisconsin, helped the LMC go undefeated in
the 3rd annual LMC-NIIC Challenge (Lake Michigan
Conference-Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference). In a pair of wins for the
Eagles (5-3), Cooper averaged 9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1 steal per
contest. On Saturday, Edgewood was victorious over Concordia University of
Illinois 80-63, and MSOE (2-6) over Dominican University of Illinois 85-76.
Sunday was more of the same for the LMC, with MSOE over Concordia 66-54, and
Edgewood over Dominican 68-56.

The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for
games played in the week of December 2-8, the third week of competition.
Julie Christensen of
Wisconsin Lutheran College was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week, her
second Player of the Week honor this season. Christensen, a senior guard out
of Racine, Wisconsin, helped her team to a 2-1 overall mark on the week and a
1-0 start in the LMC. In the Warriors three games, she averaged 14 points, 8.3
assists, 7.3 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. Christensen recorded her first
double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 assists in a 61-49 win over
Dominican University of Illinois. The Warriors are 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the
Lake Michigan Conference this season.
Jody Henze of Edgewood
College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the Week. Henze, a freshman
forward out of DeForest High School, played her hardest in the Eagles’ two
defeats last week. In the two games, she averaged 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals,
and 1 block and per game. The Eagles (1-5, 0-0 LMC) open up their LMC season
at defending LMC Champions Lakeland College, Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Craig Machut of Edgewood
College was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week, his second Player of the Week
honor this season. Machut, a senior forward/center from Green Bay, Wisconsin,
was a dominant force in Edgewood’s first LMC game of the season. In 27
minutes, he scored 25 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, had 3 blocks, and dished off
4 assists while not turning the ball over once. Machut’s scoring came from
10-12 shooting from the field (83%), and a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw
line. The Eagles (3-2, 1-0 LMC) defeated defending LMC Co-Champions Wisconsin
Lutheran College 95-77 in their only game of the week.
Derek Berger of Concordia
University of Wisconsin was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Berger,
a 6’7” senior forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was nominated by opposing
Head Coach Paul Combs of Lakeland College. Berger played a key role in the
Falcons’ come from behind victory over the Lakeland College Muskies. The
Falcons trailed 31-37 at the half, but Berger scored on consecutive seven
times down the floor. Berger also took care of things on the defensive end as
well, as he finished the game with 9 defensive rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Concordia (4-3, 1-0 LMC) won the LMC contest 84-68. Berger’s averages in two
games for the week were 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks per contest.

The Lake Michigan Conference has
announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for the
week of November 25-December 1.
Sarah Reckelberg of Marian College
was named LMC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Reckelberg, a senior
forward out of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, had two double-doubles out of Marian’s
three games last week. She had 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-64 loss to
Benedictine University on Saturday, and 17 points and 15 rebounds in a 57-50
loss to Dominican University of Illinois on Sunday. The Sabres defeated
Lawrence University 66-62 on Tuesday, where Reckelberg was a point and two
rebounds shy of her third double-double. For the week, she averaged 13.3
points, 11 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3 steals per contest, including shooting
an incredible 64% (16-25) from the field. The Sabres are currently 1-4 on the
season, and open up their Lake Michigan Conference season this Saturday versus
Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 3:00 p.m. in Fond du Lac.
Ricky Davis of Lakeland College
was named LMC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Davis, a junior guard from
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had an unbelievable scoring performance in the Muskies’
first win of the season. In Lakeland’s 80-42 win over Trinity International
University, Davis made the most of his 21 minutes of playing time, as he shot
61% (11-18) form the field, including 63% (5-8) from beyond the 3-point arc.
Davis was also a perfect 6 for 6 from the charity stripe, and added 4 rebounds
and 2 steals in the game. The Muskies are 1-2 on the season, and open up their
Lake Michigan Conference season at Concordia University of Wisconsin this
Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

The Lake Michigan Conference
has announced the Players of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball for the
first week of competition.
Julie Christensen of
Wisconsin Lutheran College was named LMC Women’s Player of the Week.
Christensen, a senior guard out of Racine, Wisconsin, helped her team to a 2-0
start on the season. She broke the NCAA Division III record for most free
throws made in a game (26) in a 64-56 win over Carthage College on Saturday.
In addition she was named MVP of the Wisconsin Lutheran Tip-Off Tournament. In
the Warriors’ two games this weekend, she averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds,
and 3 assists per contest. Christensen was 29-34 (85%) from the free throw
line, including the 26-29 record setting performance. The Warriors defeated
Maryville University of Missouri 68-46 in the opening round game of the
tournament on Friday.
Chelsea Bjarnarson of
Lakeland College was named LMC Women’s Hustle Player of the Week. Bjarnarson,
a junior guard from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, played a key role in her team’s
two victories this past weekend. In two games, she averaged 11 rebounds, 3
assists, and 2 steals per game. The Muskies defeated Dominican University
53-38 on Friday, and Northland College 63-58 on Saturday.
Craig Machut of Edgewood
College was named LMC Men’s Player of the Week. Machut, a senior
forward/center from Green Bay, Wisconsin was key in Edgewood’s 2-0 start. He
averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds per game, and shot 15-29 (52%) from the
floor, 4-11 (36%) from 3-point land, and 7-8 (88%) from the free throw line.
He was also named to the Edgewood Classic Tournament team for his efforts. The
Eagles beat Apprentice School of Virginia 80-63 in the first game of the
tournament, and were victorious over UW-Superior 74-66 in an overtime game.
Brian Crowe of Marian College
was named LMC Men’s Hustle Player of the Week. Crowe, a 5’11 senior out of
Oshkosh, Wisconsin made his effort noticeable in the Sabre’s first games of
the season. He averages 10 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest.
Marian dropped their fist game 69-75 to Beloit College, and lost 69-82 versus
Ripon College.
