1997-98 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week #8, Feb. 19, 1998
Jason Collien, Sophomore, Forward, Oakfield, WI - Marian College
In Marian's 71-48 win at Concordia, Collien tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 78% (7-9) from the field and picked up this week's Team Player award.

Kon Knueppel, Senior, Forward, Milwaukee, WI - WI Lutheran College
Kon helped the Warriors to a 77-75 win over MSOE with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. He hit 60% of his field goals (9-15), 100% of his free throws (5-5), and 50% of his treys (3-6).

1 Assists, 11 Rebounds, 1 Block, 1 Steals, Total: 14

 

Week #7, Feb. 16, 1998
Brian Wesoloski, Junior, Forward, Crivitz, WI - Lakeland College
Wesoloski averaged 23 points in two contests last week, amazingly while only scoring two-point baskets. He also amassed 25 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals, and shot an impressive 66% from the field.

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Donner helped the Eagles end their LMC schedule with a pair of wins including an 84-69 defeat of conference champ WI Lutheran. In that game, Donner had 26 points on 13 of 14 from the field including four dunks. For the week, he averaged 24.5 points, and 5 rebounds while shooting 77.4% from the field (24-31).

9 Assists, 24 Rebounds, 4 Blocks, 6 Steals, Total: 43

 

Week #6, Feb. 9, 1998
Kon Knueppel, Senior, Forward, Milwaukee, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College
Kon and the Warriors split a pair of games (Lakeland, 67-72 and Marian, 73-63 OT) but maintained a stranglehold on a third straight LMC championship. For the week, he averaged 20 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.

Kevin Fix, Sophomore, Forward, Cottage Grove, WI - Lakeland College
Fix led the Muskies to a pair of win last week, including a road win at conference leader WI Lutheran. In the win over the Warriors, Fix amassed 19 points and 7 rebounds. For the week, he averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 56% form the field and 75% at the line.

Week #5, Feb. 2, 1998
Kevin Coxon, Senior, guard, Cedar Springs, MI - Maranatha Baptist Bible College
Coxon propelled the Crusaders to a pair of LMC victories by averaging 19 points/game. For the week, he shot 72% from the field (13-18) including 7-10 on treys. In a 97-91 win over Lakeland, Coxon tallied 28 points.

Nate Burtman, Junior, Forward, Mayer, MN - Concordia University
Burtman amassed 17 points, 9 boards, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in an exciting, 68-66, victory at Lakeland. He shot 64% from the field and 60% from the line in the win.

Week #3, Jan. 19, 1998
Jason Hovland, Sophomore, Forward, Durand, WI - Marian College
Hovland led the Sabres to a 2-0 week by averaging 14 points and 7.5 rebounds in wins over MSOE and Lakeland. Hovland also shot 525 (13-25) from the field with 2 assists and 2 steals.

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Last week was perhaps Donner's finest at Edgewood as he averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds in two games. Donner shot a blistering 74% (17-23) from the field and 71% from the line while also tallying four blocked shots. He continues to lead the LMC in scoring (19.8 ppg) and is second in rebounding (8.6 rpg).

Week #2, Jan. 12, 1998
Biaya Kadima, Sophomore, Guard, Milwaukee, WI - Concordia University
Kadima helped the Falcons split on the week (76-59 win over MSOE, 80-64 loss at Edgewood) be averaging 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 steals. He shot 55% from the field (56% on treys) and tallied 20 points against MSOE.

Kevin Fix, Sophomore, Forward, Cottage Grove, WI - Lakeland College
In a losing effort, 71-64 at MSOE, the Fix was in. In, as in the basket. He scored 37 points for the Muskies while amassing 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

4 Assists, 15 Rebounds, 1 Block, 3 Steals, Total: 23

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Donner has led the Eagles to a 2-0 start by averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds in Edgewood's two victories. Donner is also shooting 61.9% from the field and averaging 1.5 assists.

Kon Knueppel, Senior, Forward/Guard, Milwaukee, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College
Knueppel's play had helped the Warriors to a 2-0 start in the LMC. He has averaged 19 points and 6 rebounds/victory while shooting 56% from the floor. Kon has also assisted on 6 other scores and shot 91% from the free throw line.
