1996-97 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week #7, Feb. 17, 1997
Clay Potvin, Senior, Forward, Garden, MI - Cardinal Stritch College
Potvin sparked the Crusaders to victories over Maranatha (98-87) and LMC champion WI Lutheran (81-75) with 45 points that included an 11-11 performance from the field against WI Lutheran. For the week he shot 90% (18-20) and averaged 8 rebounds/contest.

Biaya Kadima, Freshman, Guard, Milwaukee, WI - Concordia University
Kadima led the Falcons to a pair of wins last week including an 80-70 triumph over Edgewood which snapped a 13 game losing streak to the Eagles. He averaged 13.5 points and 6 rebounds while canning 50% of his three-pointers.

7 Assists, 24 Rebounds, 0 Blocks, 3 Steals, Total: 34 hustle points (in two games)

 

Week #6, Feb. 10, 1997
Scott Frey, Senior, Guard, Oak Creek, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College
Frey poured in 41 points in two wins last week, including the game-winning basket in a 53-52 victory over Edgewood. He shot 64% (14-22) fro the floor, 83% from the line (5-6), and 57% (8-14) from beyond the arc. His 19.1 points/game continues to lead the LMC.

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Donner continued to set a torrid pace as he tallied 45 points (22.5 ppg) and 19 rebounds (9.5 rpg). His shooting from the field was blistering, as he hit 75% (18-24) of his attempts. His 18.4 ppg and 9.3 rpg are both second in the LMC.

Week #5, Feb. 3, 1997
Jason Goodrich, Senior, Guard, Miami, FL - Lakeland College
Goodrich helped the Muskies break into the LMC win column with a pair of victories last week. Goodrich piled up 38 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks while knocking down 48% of his field goals and 83% of his free throws.

Mike Franke, Senior, guard, Oakfield, WI - Marian College
Franke paced the Sabres attack with a 21.5 scoring average in two league games last week. He canned 50% of his three-point attempts (5-10) and 93% of his free throws (14-15) while garnering 8 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Assists: 3, Rebounds: 29, Blocks: 6, Steals: 2 - Total: 40 in three games.

 

Week #4, Jan. 27, 1997
Joe Petelin, Junior, Center, LaSalle, IL - Cardinal Stritch College
The Crusaders played three games last week, winning two, and Petelin was up to the task. He scored 43 points including 24 in a win over MSOE. He also had 14 rebounds and 5 assists while shooting 48% from the field.

Scott Frey, Senior Guard, Oak Creek, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College
Frey paced the Warriors to a 1-1 record last week by averaging 19/5 points while shooting a blistering 59% from the field and 64% from beyond the three-point line. He also had 8 assists in the two games and made 7 treys.

TEAM PLAYER/HUSTLER OF THE WEEK

Week #3, Jan. 20, 1997
David Orns, Sophomore, Forward, El Paso, IL - Maranatha Baptist Bible College
In the Crusaders' first conference win of the season, an 82-74 victory over Lakeland, Orns exploded for 27 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 53% from the field and 79% from the line. His 21.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per LMC outing lead the legue.

Marquise Watts, Freshman, Guard, Milwaukee, WI - MSOE
In two games (a win over Concordia, 64-57, and a loss to WI Lutheran, 78-55), Watts tallied 31 points, 20 rebounds, and 9 assists. Against Lakeland, Watts had 21 points, 10 boards, and 5 dishes.

TEAM PLAYER/HUSTLER OF THE WEEK
Brian Wesoloski, Junior, Forward, Crivitz, WI - Lakeland College
13 Assists, 19 Rebounds, 0 Blocks, 5 Steals, Total: 37 (in two games)

 

Week #2, Jan. 13, 1997
Biaya Kadima, Freshman, Guard, Milwaukee, WI - Concordia University
In two conference games, Kadima scored 35 points to go along with 14 rebounds, 12 assists, and 12 steals. In a win over Cardinal Stritch and a loss to Edgewood he averaged 17.5 points,7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals.

Brian Wesoloski, Junior, Forward, Crivitz, WI - Lakeland College
In a loss to MSOE, Wesoloski had 15 points while shooting 78% from the field. He also tallied 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to pace the Muskies.

Week #1, Dec 18, 1996
Scott Frey, Senior, Guard, Oak Creek, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College
Frey has helped the Warriors to a 3-0 LMC start by averaging 17 points/game. In an 88-63 win over Lakeland, Frey had 19 points hitting 6 of 7 three-point attempts. On the season he has made 13 of 20 treys (65%).

Josh Donner, Senior, Center, Oshkosh, WI - Edgewood College
Donner has paced the Eagles to a 2-0 LMC mark with some amazing shooting. Against MSOE (73-71) Donner tallied 24 points on 80% field goal shooting while in a win over Lakeland he had 16 rebounds. In the twin wins, he is averaging 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, 63% FG (12-19), 73% FT (11-15) and 2 blocks an outing.
