Week #4, Jan. 28, 1990
Terrell Cannon, a 6'0 junior guard-forward for Maranatha Baptist is the Lake Michigan Conference Player of the Week. A native of Saginaw, Mich., Cannon scored 25 points in leading his Crusaders to a 78-74 win at Cardinal Stritch, a victory that put Maranatha in sole possession of 2nd place in the LMC. Cannon was 7 of 14 from the field and 11 of 16 from the free throw line in the victory. He also added 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

Week #2, Jan. 16, 1990
6'6 sophomore center Brian Geurts (De Pere, Wis., Abbot Pennings H.S.) of MSOE is the latest LMC Player of the Week. An All-LMC pick a year ago, Geurts led the Raiders to two LMC wins, including a 72-68 win over front-running Marian College, that put MSOE into sole possession of third place in the conference. Geurts scored 20 points on 9 of 14 field goal shooting, 2 of 7 free throws and grabbed 11 boards in the Marian win. He came back two nights later for a 29-point performance in MSOE's 88-80 win over Lakeland. In that contest, Geurts was 9 of 14 from the field, 11 of 15 from the charity stripe and grabbed 9 caroms.

 

Week #1, Dec. 26, 1989
Milford Parker, a 6'1 junior guard from Marian College is this week's LMC Player of the Week. Parker scored a two-game total of 49 points as his Marian College team took a two-game lead in the Lake Michigan Conference with an 85-77 victory over Cardinal Stritch College and an 82-60 win over Northwestern College. Parker was 19 of 26 from the field for 73.1%, 8 of 10 from the free throw line for 80%, 3 of 7 from three-point range and had 8 assists. the junior guard from Bossier City, Louisiana (Bossier H.S.) has been part of Sabre teams that have won 31 of their last 34 LMC games.
