Last week Flynn became the first hurler in Edgewood history to throw a perfect
game. Flynn set down all 21 Maranatha batters he faced in the first game of
Saturday's doubleheader. Backed by 20 hits on the offensive end, the Eagles
(28-12, 17-4 LMC) won game one 21-0. Flynn struck out eight, rolled three ground
balls, and forced ten flyouts in the contest. The Eagles 3-0 sweep of Maranatha
Baptist Bible College clinched back-to-back Lake Michigan Conference
championships.

Adam Rohlinger of Concordia University

Rohlinger hit .623 (12-of-19) in seven games last week, as the Falcons went 6-1,
including 4-0 in LMC play. Rohlinger tallied 11 runs, 14 RBI, three doubles and
five BB. Rohlinger also had a .708 on-base percentage.

Matt Andrews of Lakeland College
...Senior...C...Appleton, Wis. (West)...
Andrews went 8-for-18 in five games last week for a .444 average. Andrews played
a key role in both Muskie (11-19, 8-7 LMC) wins over Edgewood College, going
2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in Friday's 4-2 win. On Saturday he went
3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI in the 4-3 victory.

Kevin Biederer of Milwaukee School of Engineering
...Sophomore...SS...Grayslake, Ill. (Grayslake)...
Biederer hit .563 (9-for-16) last week, which included two doubles and a
homerun. In addition to his five RBIs, Biederer had a .875 slugging percentage
and a .611 on-base percentage. The sophomore added three stolen bases, and
defensively had nine putouts and 18 assists from the shortstop position. The
Raiders (9-15, 6-4 LMC) went 4-1 last week.

Bryan Burgert of Marian College
...Senior...RHP...Oshkosh, Wis. (West)...
Burgert picked up the win in Saturday's Lake Michigan Conference game against
Concordia University as he pitched a complete game in the Sabres 5-1 victory.
Burgert gave up only one run on three hits, as his opponents hit only .125
against him. Burgert struck out three and didn't walk a batter as Marian (10-9,
5-3 LMC) split the doubleheader with Concordia.
Ricky Martinez of Edgewood College
...Junior...OF...Beach Park, Ill. (Zion-Benton Township)...
Martinez blasted three homeruns as Edgewood swept MSOE on Sunday, 15-4 and 17-7.
Martinez hit a solo homer and scored twice in the first game of the twinbill. He
then went deep twice, including a three-run shot, in game two. For the day,
Martinez went 4-for-8 (.500) and had five RBIs and five runs scored with a
whopping 1.625 slugging percentage. The regionally ranked Eagles improved to
17-6 on the season and 7-1 in the LMC with the sweep.

Nate Mercado of Dominican University
...Sophomore...SS...Chicago, Ill. (St. Patrick)...
Mercado hit .438 (7-of-16) with five extra-base hits including a pair of triples
as the Stars (9-9, 4-1 LMC) went 5-0 last week. In the leadoff spot, Mercado
drove in eight runs and scored nine. He also recorded seven BBs, and only one
strikeout.

Andy Steffen of Concordia University
...Senior...RHP...Richfield, Wis. (Milwaukee Lutheran)...
Steffen pitched a complete game (nine innings) shutout versus Lakeland
College on Friday. Steffen recorded seven Ks, no walks and allowed only
seven hits in the 4-0 conference victory for the Falcons (8-5, 2-1 LMC).
Matt Ambriz of Lakeland College
...Freshman...IF...Wausau, Wis. (Wausau)...
Ambriz went 7-for-12 at the plate in four games for a .583 average including
three runs scored, one RBI and a walk. His best game was in game two of a
doubleheader against Benedictine on Saturday where he hit 3-for-4 with a double,
a RBI and a run scored.

Bret Dvorak of Dominican University

Dvorak tossed a complete game, nine-inning shutout against Rockford
College in just his third start of the season. Dvorak surrendered just
two hits and three walks while striking out nine en route to his second
win of the season. The Stars improved to 3-7 after the 5-0 victory.
Andrew Handorf of Edgewood College
...Senior...DH...DeForest, Wis. (DeForest)...
In helping the Eagles (9-4) to a 6-0 record last week, Handorf batted .571
(12-for-21) with five runs scored and 10 RBIs. Handorf collected three hits
against St. Mary's College and in game one of a doubleheader versus Daniel
Webster. Handorf, who boasted a slugging percentage of .810 and an on-base
percentage of .609 last week, also extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Bret Dvorak of Dominican University
...Junior...RHP...Elmwood Park, Ill. (Elmwood Park)...
Dvorak recorded a win in his only appearance last week, as the Stars
(2-7) downed Baldwin-Wallace College, 4-3, in Fort Myers, Florida. The
right-hander threw the first six innings of the game and surrendered
only four hits and one unearned run. His opponents hit only .174, as he
struck out seven batters, and walked six.

Anthony Gorzelnik of Milwaukee School of Engineering
...Junior...3B...Anitoch, Ill. (Anitoch Community)...
Gorzelnik started out the season with a nine-game hitting streak,
recording one hit in each of the Raiders' (2-7) games in Port Charlotte,
Florida. Gorzelnik hit .485 (16-for-33), and recorded a .545 slugging
percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. For the week he tallied six
runs, six RBIs, two doubles, two stolen bases and a walk. In his 33
at-bats, Gorzelnik had only one strikeout. On defense, he recorded 13
putouts and 25 assists playing three different positions (2B, SS, 3B).
