1995 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

May 3, 1995
Greg Toll, Cardinal Stritch College, So, 3B, Milwaukee, WI
Toll hit .471 (8-17), recording 3 doubles and 8 RBIs in the six games the Crusaders played. Cardinal Stritch was 5-1 for the Week.

Tom Jury, Edgewood College, Sr, UTL, Little Chute, WI
Over the course of six games last week, Jury played eight of nine field positions excluding shortstop. He helped his team by collecting 8 hits (.500 BA), 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.

Other LMC Notables: Doug Holvick (Marian) went 2-0 tossing a 1-hitter against Stritch and a 4-hitter against MSOE...Jake Manthey (Lakeland) tossed a 3-hit shutout against Maranatha and won another games 5-4 in 12 innings over WI Lutheran.


April 25, 1995
Brian Miller, Marian College, Sr, P, Two Rivers, WI
Miller tossed two complete game shutouts allowing just 9 hits overall to propel the Sabres into first place. Against Lakeland he gave up 4 hits and struck out 7, while versus WI Lutheran he had 7 K's.

Jason Bartelt, Lakeland College, Jr, SS, Ashwaubenon, WI
For the week he hit .609 (14-23) with 9 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Over a two game stretch that spanned double-headers with Marian and Northwestern College, he collected 10 consecutive hits including a 5-5 performance against Marian.

Other LMC Notables: James Hennen (WI Lutheran) hit .611 (11-18) with 5 runs scored and 4 doubles...Mike Alwardt (Concordia) was 5-12 at the plate and defeated Lakeland scattering 10 hits...Jason Thiel (Northwestern) in the second game against Maranatha had 7 RBIs and 4 runs.


April 18, 1995
Jake Manthey, Lakeland College, Jr, P, Pardeeville, WI
Manthey tossed a complete game four-hit shutout against MSOE last week. In 7 innings of work he had 8 strikeouts and only 2 walks. His fifth career shutout set a new Lakeland school record.

Bob Manders, Marian College, Sr, 1B, Menomonee Falls, WI
In leading Marian to a 5-0 record last week, Manders bombed opposing pitching for 9 hits in 16 at bats (.563). He collected 4 doubles, 2 homeruns, 9 RBIs amd 7 runs scored. While playing first base he had 34 put outs and no errors.

Other LMC Notables: Scott Oshefsky (Edgewood) hit .600 last week with 1 HR, 4 RBUs and 3 runs scored in leading the Eagles to a 3-1 mark.
 

April 11, 1995
Joel Heckendorf, Northwestern College, So, P/IF, Jackson, WI
In four games, Heckendorf leads the Trojans in nearly every offensive category. In 12 ABs he has 8 hits and 6 runs scored with a .667 batting average. He has tallied 1 homerun, 2 doubles and 2 RBIs while posting a .733 on-base percentage.

Roger Baumler, Wisconsin Lutheran College, So, P, Milwaukee, WI
Baumler has sparked the Warriors to an early 4-0 LMC mark by collecting two pitching victories, hurling 12 innings, allowing 9 hits and only 1 earned run for a nifty 0.58 ERA.
